Verification is a process that allows you to prove that you are the one in control of a certain X account. This is important because we want to prevent malicious actors from impersonating people, as well as prevent people from squatting on handles they don't truly own.

Add the handle on your dashboard, start verification to get a one-time code (like FF3K9Q2), paste it into that account's X bio, then press Check now. We fetch the public profile and confirm the code. It expires after 24 hours if unchecked.

No. We never use your X credentials in any way. You just paste a code into your own bio from the X app or website.

No, Frenfinder is intentionally email-free. Your account is your username + password. When you sign up you're given one-time recovery codes; keep them somewhere safe and you can always get back in. They're single-use. If you lose them, you can generate new ones from your dashboard as long as you're still logged in and enter your current password.

Since there's no email to reset through, use one of your recovery codes. Go to Forgot your password, enter your username, an unused recovery code (e.g. FF3K9Q2), and a new password. Each code works only once. After you're back in, go to your dashboard and regenerate a fresh set.

We can't recover your account without one: codes are single-use and only stored as hashes, and there's no email to verify you by. The account can't be reset by us. This is the trade-off of being email-free. Please keep your codes safe.

On your dashboard, under Change password. You'll stay signed in on this device. Already locked out? Use a recovery code instead (see above).

On your dashboard, under Delete account. Deleting removes your X handles, recovery codes, claims, name, and password. Verified handles free up for someone else to re-claim. Deleting your account is permanent.

If it's unverified, yes. Register, then verify it. The first person to successfully verify a handle owns it, and other pending claims are withdrawn. This keeps anyone from squatting on names. Verified handles are locked and can't be re-claimed.

Mark the old account banned and, if you have a new account, set it as your main account. Followers who search your old name will see the suspension and a "Current Main Account" pointer to your current account.
